Placing an order at telcom-data.com should be quick, easy and above all, secure. Follow these steps to complete your electronic order.

Adding an item to the cart:

In both the Legend/Magix as well as the Definity, the course is "hands on" with emphasis on administration of the systems.
  • Day one we cover the proper installation of the systems, including power and grounding requirements and initial administration of the system.
  • Day two, includes basic trunking, and station additions, remote access for administration, administration of the dial plan and feature code assignments.
  • Day three, advanced trunking, DS1, with both T-1 and ISDN trunking arrangements, uniform dial plan, and basic DCS.
  • Day four, complete networking of the 4 systems using dcs for feature transparency between locations, ARS, and AAR, Class of Restriction, Class of Service, Station features, Coverage, hunt groups, centralized voice mail.
  • Day five "special applications" review and wrap up
The Legend/Magix is 4.5 days combining the basic and advanced administration in to one class.

The Definity is also 4.5 days, combines parts of the previous basic installation and maintenance class, networking, basic administration, and trunking.

Prior experience with either of the products is not necessary.

The Legend/Magix class follows a more strict schedule during the week due to the specific course outline, and exercises.

The Definity is more customized in each class, depending on the needs of the audience.

PRI or Primary Rate Interface is a ISDN equivalent of a T1 circuit.

Most of our Merlin users currently use POTS lines. Plain Old Telephone Service or "POTS" Lines. Customers who switched from POTS lines to PRI usually experience a 25%-35% reduction in monthly telephone service costs

The standard analog line provides local dial tone for the small to medium size business. They are used for such things as making and receiving telephone calls, faxing, modems, security systems and credit card/ATM machines. For each Pots line there is a port in the Merlin system that is needed and you also pay a monthly line fee for each line. This can add up to be very expensive. POTS service is also referred as switched service.

ISDN PRI digitally delivers your local, long distance, DID and internet service over one 4-wire interface. Your ISDN PRI T-1 has 23 channels that move voice and data along nicely at 64 Kbps. Consolidation makes sense because you reduce your network costs by incorporating PRI into your existing telecommunications blueprint, thus eliminating POTS line charges to the local exchange carrier. The D Channel is the 24th Channel. It constantly communicates with the Central Office ensuring the proper bytes and uninterrupted transmission. It also helps you comply with the E911 Law by delivering the phone number, extension number and physical location of the caller to 911. In addition, you automatically get Caller I.D., the name of the calling party on incoming and outgoing calls.
